The story behind this one: Somebody left a Hawaii guide book at my stand at the Dole Plantation. I skimmed through it and thought all the different fonts and busy design would make an interesting background for a painting so rather than throwing it away I cut out the pages, glued them to a piece of plywood and painted Duke Kahanamoku on top. Duke was a pioneer of surfing and a Hawaiian hero. This one is acrylic on plywood. Original painting by Jason Dennison.
